Help bij Nuttige Petitie
Een creatieve vriend die tevens goede djembé-leraar is, zit op dit moment vast in een
detentiecentrum. Hiermee wordt aandacht gevraagd voor de rare situatie waarin hij en veel anderen zitten.
Mohamed, een Soedanese vluchteling kwam eind jaren negentig naar Nederland. Doordat zijn destijds voor driejaar geldig verblijfsvergunning niet verlengd was, werd Mohamed illegaal. Terwijl Nederland wilde dat hij het land verliet, bleek dit niet mogelijk omdat hij over geen enkel ID-document beschikte. Mohamed mocht niet in Nederland blijven maar kon Nederland ook
niet verlaten. Op dit moment is Mohamed meer dan 7 jaar illegaal en gedurende deze tijd is hij meerdere malen hiervoor opgepakt. Elke poging hem uit te zetten is niet gelukt omdat er niet aangetoond kan worden dat hij is wie hij is. Daardoor kon er geen laissez-passer (eenmalig paspoort) afgegeven worden. Voor zowel de staat als voor Mohamed was en is dit erg frustrerend omdat hij tot op de dag van vandaag geen ‘normaal leven’ kan opbouwen, niet in Nederland maar ook niet ergens anders. Mohamed is een sterk persoon en heeft zijn best gedaan om zijn leven een positieve invulling te geven. Hij werkte vol enthousiasme en overgave als vrijwilliger door percussie workshops te geven aan meerdere (doel)groepen. Ook door het netwerk wat Mohamed om zich heen heeft, wist hij zich al deze jaren staande te houden.
Mohamed werd in oktober voor de zesde keer opgepakt en zit sinds dien in een
vreemdelingen bewaring. Er komt geen beweging in de situatie omdat zowel het Soedanese consulaat als Dienst terugkeer en Vertrek en het IND geen openheid van zaken geven. Toch wederom blijkt hij niet uitzetbaar te zijn. Deze petitie is opgezet voor een positieve verandering in de situatie. Er moeten 40.000 handtekeningen verzameld worden om de situatie van
Mohamed en vele anderen in diezelfde situatie bespreekbaar te maken in de tweede kamer.

So as not to reinvent the wheel, Civic Help is a project being developed to help the needy gain quick access to genuine, non-commercial help resources when needed. This project evolved from our work at Factuality Research Library - as a practical corrective aspect of Institutional Ethics. The purpose is to develop a world-wide channel to enable people gain more access to genuine help when in need, and to enable those who feel concerned to offer help to the needy. Civic Help is simply people helping people world wide. You too can help in any of the categories of help listed below. Restrictions to the types of help covered in Civic Help are of an ethical nature. Any help listed by Civic Help must be genuine, non-commercial help offered without strings attached, and without religious requirements by a non-partisan, non-violent, non-discriminating organisation, group or body.

How old are the cables and sockets? Hoe oud is de bedrading? Need replacing? Is vernieuwing nodig?

- Any earthing switch? Is er een aardlekschakelaar?
- Enough fuse lines? Is er voldoende groepen in de meterkast?

- Enough double glass? Is er voldoende dubbelglas?
- Are the windows okay? Zijn de dubbele ramen nog goed?
- Are walls ceilings, roof and floors well insulated? Zijn muren, plafonds, dak en vloeren geïsoleerd?
- Are heating pipes insulated? Zijn verwarmingsbuizen geisoleerd?
- Are doors and windows sealed against the wind? Zijn ramen en deuren voorzien van tochtstrips?

- Do doors and windows close properly? Sluiten ramen en deuren goed?

- How is the wall-papering and drapery? Hoe is het hang- en sluitwerk?
- Do door handles need replacement? Moeten de deurknoppen vervangen worden?
- Any anti-burglary installations? Zijn er voorzieningen tegen inbrekers?

- Any new kitchen equipment needed? Moet er nieuwe apparatuur komen?
- Are built-in equipments included? Zit ingebouwde apparatuur in de aankoopkosten?
- Any connections for washing machine and dishwasher or dryer? Zijn er aansluitingen voor afwas- en wasmachine, en droger?
- Are the kitchen cupboards enough? Is er voldoende kastruimte?
- Is the layout of the kitchen handy? Is de keuken handig ingedeeld?

- Are the bedrooms enough? Zijn genoeg slaap- en kinderkamers?
- Are they well located relative to the living room, and for noise? Liggen de kamers goed ten opzichte van de woonkamer, ook qua geluid?
- Enough wardrobe space? Is er voldoende kastruimte?
- Are they well heated?Kunnen de kamers verwarmd worden?
- Any balconies? Zijn er balkons?

Bathroom and toilets – Badkamer en toilet
- Are the taps, bath, washbasins, toilet-seats and connections good enough? Zijn de kranen, douche, ligbad, toilet, wastafels en aansluitingen voor goed?
- How are they heated? Hoe wordt er verwarmd?
- Are they well maintained? Zijn die goed onderhouden?
- Are the tiles still goed? Zijn tegels en voegen nog goed?
- Enough ventilation? Is er genoeg ventilatie? Let op vochtplekken!
External Inspection – Externe inspectie
Walk around the street and the neighbourhood to feel it all. Loop een rondje om het huis heen om even de buurt te proeven.
- Any sun in the garden? Komt de zon in de tuin?
- Any parking space? Is er parkeerruimte?
- Any parking licence needed? Is een parkeervergunning nodig?
- Any public transport? Is er openbaar vervoer?
- Any shops nearby? Zijn er winkels in de buurt?
- Are children safe there? Is het veilig voor kinderen?
- Are neighbours okay? Zijn de buren vriendelijk?
- Any schools, doctor’s clinics, droggists and shops? Zijn er scholen, artsen, een apotheek?
- Any sports or club facilities? Zijn er verenigingen en recreatiemogelijkheden?
| Age of the building – Bouwjaar
The quality of a home often depends on the time it was built. Het bouwjaar van een huis kan bepalend zijn voor de kwaliteit. Aside from exceptions, the following generally hold. Er zijn natuurlijk uitzonderingen, maar over het algemeen geldt het volgende:
- Pre-war homes were strongly built. De kwaliteit van woningen die voor de oorlog gebouwd zijn is over het algemeen goed. Improved post-war regulations have led to better home quality with respect to insulation, ventilation, double walls, double glass and better building materials.Vooral na 1901 (toen de woningwet werd ingevoerd) steeg de kwaliteit van de nieuwbouw enorm. In de jaren twintig maakte men steeds meer gebruik van de spouwmuur (die inmiddels standaard is). Dit zorgde voor betere isolatie en minder geluidsoverlast.
- Between World War and the seventies, housing quality fell due to rushed construction and less fashionable designs. Vanaf de Tweede Wereldoorlog tot de jaren zeventig was de kwaliteit van woningen beduidend minder, als gevolg van grootschalige woningbouw, minder modieuze wijken en slechte bouwmethoden.
- Later in the 1970′s, houses were built better and bigger. In de jaren zeventig werd er weer beter gebouwd. De meeste woningen uit deze tijd zijn redelijk ruim en luxe.
- In the 1980′s, smaller and subsidised houses were built as demand fell, but with double glazing and insulated walls. Na 1980 zijn vooral veel premiewoningen gebouwd omdat de vraag naar koophuizen enorm daalde. Deze huizen zijn dan ook klein, en op het meeste bouwmateriaal is bezuinigd. Behalve op de isolatie; vanaf deze tijd is de dubbele beglazing, en dak- en spouwisolatie standaard.

- The level of local charges for housing tax, water charges and sewage. De hoogte van lokale belastingen: onroerend goed, waterschap e.d.
- Local land-use regulations. Biedt het bestemmingsplan beperkingen voor deze buurt?
- Any soil pollution? Is er vervuilde grond?
- Any thorougfare rights attached to the plot of land? Is er recht op overpad of erfdienstbaarheden op het pand?
- Any specific obligations on the house? (e.g. street-name board) Zijn er verplichtingen? (u bent zoals een straatnaambordje op uw gevel te schroeven)
- Any regulation against speculation on it? Rust er een anti-speculatiebeding op de woning? (geldt meestal voor een periode van 10 jaar)
